Sixth conference for Gay and Lesbian Jews

Throughout the world, groups of gay and lesbian Jews are now preparing for their sixth annual conference, which will be held at the Holiday Inn, independence Mall in Philadelphia, July 2-5.
After canvassing the opinions of several hundred former confe-
rees, we have drawn up a schedule of over 50 workshops which will form the core of our conference program. They range from gay health concerns to the New Jewish Agenda, from folkdancing to feminism.
Our keynote speaker will be Seymour Kleinberg, professor of English at Long Island Univer-

sity, Brooklyn, N.Y. and author of 'Alienated Affections,' the recent probing study of gay and lesbian lifestyles. The conference will also be addressed by Rabbi Linda Holtzman of Congregation Beth Israel, Coatesville, Pa., at the Friday night service to be held at the nation's oldest Reform synagogue, Rodeph Shalom. Rabbi Holtzman is well known for her interest in feminist and progressive political action. On the night of July 4, when the city of Philadelphia mounts a spectacular fireworks display, 300 of our conferees will have the very special vantage point of a riverboat on the Delaware, which will be the scene of an end-ofSabbath "Havdallah' ritual and a buffet supper.
